Member questions

We’re a modern, online research agency, working with clients to provide insights into the issues that people face in their everyday life and to provide information about their products.

The OnePoll Panel is a community of UK adults who have registered to take part in market research and opinion polls. The Panel members have the opportunity to share their opinions and experiences about a wide range of topics.

Anyone aged 18 or over and resident of the UK can become a member of the OnePoll Panel.

Your thoughts, opinions and experiences are important and we make sure that you get a chance to communicate yours, to audiences that are interested in hearing what you have to say.

From Brands that need your help to guide their business, to journalists and national news papers that need to underpin their stories with real public statistics and feedback, we make sure they hear you.

For your help, you’ll be rewarded with points for each survey that you complete. When you account reaches 2500 points you can redeem the points for £25.

By signing into the home login page where available surveys are shown.

You might also be sent a survey invitation from OnePollUK members@onepoll.com to the email address you register with.

This survey invitation will contain a unique URL which you will need to click on to access the survey.

Included within the invitation will be details of the reward you will receive for participating, a rough estimate of how long the survey will take to complete (usually 5 – 10 minutes) and when the survey will remain open until. Surveys usually remain open for 24 to 72 hours although where possible we do try to leave surveys open for longer.

You will typically have anywhere from 24 to 72 hours to one week to complete each survey. Sorry – but we can’t reward you for replies after the ‘close’ date.

When we run a survey, we usually select a sample of people to represent the UK population – so our surveys include responses from young and old, rich and poor and people from all regions of the UK. This means that individual Panel members won’t be invited to all the surveys we do but will see a good selection.

There is no limit to the amount of surveys you can complete.

In order to accurately represent the views of the UK population we invite a random sub section of the panel to participate in each survey which means panel members won’t be invited to all the surveys we do.

A brief member profile is the only information required for joining the Panel. Your member profile will include basic contact information and vital data – gender, age, region and so on.

Your OnePoll Panel profile information is NEVER sold or distributed to any company.

The reward offered for each survey is awarded in points depending on the survey length and is shown next to the survey, usually between 20 and 50p per survey, although for longer surveys we will always aim to increase the incentive for taking part. This money will be shown in your OnePoll account within 24 hours of survey completion.

Once you reach the £20 (2000 points) threshold you can claim a reward by BACS direct to your bank account or by PayPal.

Payments are usually processed within 14-21 days of receiving your response to the payment survey. During busy periods payments may take up to 28 days to be processed however we will always endeavour to ensure all payments are made to panellists as soon as possible.

Client questions

We have proprietary community panels in the UK which we can achieve both nationally representative and niche demographic samples. For international projects that require respondents from outside our panel, we work with a small network of external panel providers, carefully chosen for the high level of quality assurance procedures that are in line with our own.

Recruitment to our community is done through a variety of channels. We have a strong internal member referral process but we also use social media, partner websites, blogs, new stories and emails. A key feature of our recruitment process is the extensive profiling activity that all new members complete. This allows us to collect more that 100 individual data-points on each community member which is crucial to accurate survey targeting.

As an MRS Company Partner and ESOMAR Corporate Member, quality process are in operation throughout the entire research journey. It starts with managing the panel to ensure that surveys are accurately matched to the desired target audience. Then during fieldwork we incorporate quality control questions, IP geo-mapping, response speed capture, straight-line traps and blacklists. A researcher will check the data twice while fieldwork is live and once again when fieldwork is complete and we ensure that we always complete at 10% over the required number, so should we discover any discrepancies, removal of that data won’t affect the robustness of the data.

When we onboard new panel community members, we require that they send us a photo of themselves with a recognised form of photo ID. This helps ensure that people are who they say they are and don’t try to set-up duplicate accounts. Our software will only allow us to target panel members whose profile meet the specified demographic and our in survey quality control is designed to reveal anyone completing a survey in an inconsistent manner.

As an online market research provider, respondents typically access surveys and interviews via our bespoke mobile app. For those who don’t wish to use the app, any platform that can accept email notifications or allows members to log-in to their personal account can be used. These platforms are PC’s, laptop’s, tablet’s and mobile phones. Anyone without access to these platforms would not be able access and complete our surveys.

Our current figures show that we have just over 70,000 panel community members across the UK.
